The House of Energy, Climate and Finance is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop on Empirically Founded Electricity Market Models, which will take place as part of the EfeMOD project.

The workshop will focus on the role of publicly available data in improving the parameterisation, forecasting performance, and practical relevance of energy system and electricity market models. It aims to bring together researchers and practitioners to discuss current methodological developments, empirical applications, and future challenges in electricity market modelling.

The EfeMOD project is carried out by two chairs of the House of Energy, Climate and Finance, led by Prof. Christoph Weber and Prof. Florian Ziel, and is funded by the BMWE.

The event will take place in person on Monday, 1 June 2026, from 10:00 to 16:00 at the Essen campus of the University of Duisburg-Essen. The exact room will be communicated to registered participants in the confirmation email.

In addition to contributions from the project team, two external speakers will present recent progress from their respective work. The workshop will also provide ample opportunity for exchange, discussion, and networking among participants.
